We were at last year’s WordCamp Miami with some custom event sticker sheets featuring Wapuus, and we’re proud to be back for another year of WordPress community love and energy. This time around, there’s Wapuus, of course, and also some fun mini stickers using the WordPress logo and #WCMIA branding.
Playing host for another year is Florida International University, who offers up the meeting space, and when the sessions end on Saturday, attendees will be hot-tailing to the official #WCMIA Networking After Party at Dave and Buster’s, at one of Miami’s Dolphin Mall.
One session at this year’s WordCamp Miami is the the Kids Panel AKA “The Next Generation of WordPress Users”, which is an amazing way to engage tomorrow’s WordPress developers. They have a writeup on their page about this initiative:
We want to showcase how young people are using WordPress, how they view blogging, and what other technologies they are using to publish content on the Internet. The panel is meant to not only feature youths, but also educate those in attendance what the next generation’s motivations are.
Are you a parent or guardian of a child (age 18 or under) that uses WordPress (hosted version or WordPress.com)? Does the child have a blog, even if it’s NOT on WordPress? Then we would like to see them apply (w/ parent’s permission) to be a part of a 30 minute panel on Sunday (February 21st) afternoon. Parents and guardians can simply email us directly at miami@wordcamp.org to nominate a child.
